#14 WEST SIDE FLATS
Before the flood of 1965, many people made their homes along the banks of the Mississippi River. Hear stories of the many people who lived in the West Side Flats area.

Home to many music, food, and cultural festivals, Harriet Island on its quieter days is a great place to watch the barges go by and catch sight of a bald eagle.

At one time, steamboats landed by the thousands at Upper Landing. Today, the landing provides amazing views of the river and a great place to see the impact of human influence on the Mississippi River banks.
